Should euthanasia be legalized?

Euthanasia is defined as the painless killing for the patient who have to suffer an incurable disease or in an irreversible coma (Wikipedia, 2011). Nowadays, euthanasia is becoming a bigger issue when there are some vehement arguments about the right to choose euthanasia of patient appear in media. People usually say that life is the gift but how can patients keep living with the pain appear in each second of their life while they know that there is no medicine can cure their illness? I believe that euthanasia should be legalized because of three main reasons below: people have right to decide their fate, humanitarian grounds and financial issues.

First of all, I believe that patients still have the right to choose their fate. Everyone had been born with the hope and happiness of their parents. They grown up and decide the way for their life. Someone becomes the President, politician, doctor, teacher or worker but there are still many people can’t achieve their dream because of illness. But the worst part is there is no medicine can cure and they have to count every single day till they die. In my opinion, this is so cruel that patient suffers the pain everyday while the only thing doctor can do is injecting to reduce a pain and they refuse when he asks them to help him die. It is quite funny when government compares euthanasia as a murder crime. In fact, euthanasia is not as government said, it is the action to help patient get peaceful. I believe that if the patient seeks to die with dignity because of they can’t stand anymore, they should be allowed to have euthanasia without government’s or anyone’s decision.  In the past, the ancient Greeks and Roman thought that there was no reason to maintain someone’s life when they don’t want to live anymore so these two ancient civilizations allowed euthanasia in their time. I hope that government should review about illegalized euthanasia because of the right to choose the fate of patient.

When a person has been diagnose that he has an incurable disease, which moment is really the bad time for him and his family also. Do you image how the painful moment is when his family watching him writhing in pain and they can do nothing? The pain they feel is much more than the pain which patient is suffering. When patient asks to die, that’s mean he can’t bear the pain any more. It is really ridiculous when doctor refuses the request and keep injecting to reduce patient’s pain. How about the case of irreversible coma? When even the doctor doesn’t know how many percent the patient will wake up. It’s make it hard for family and doctor to make any decision. Maintaining the life of patient is the most popular choice but it’s quite vague and expensive. It can be out of affordability of a poor family and it will be a tragic if doctor doesn’t allowed euthanasia. Some people said that while there's life, there's hope but how can they understand when they don’t have to suffer? I know that euthanasia in this case is so insensitive but I believe that it is the only best way.

The cost for cruel and maintain the life for patient who has an incurable disease or in an irreversible coma is very expensive. It is very difficult for patient’s family to make a decision because they don’t sure if patient will be cured after treatment or not. People can’t let their family member suffering the pain but they will have the pressure of earning money when they choose maintain choice. When the patient and patient’s family ask for euthanasia because they cannot effort for the medical cost, doctor should do them a favor.  I know that almost people will try to earn and borrow money for cruel their family member but in fact doctors can’t extend to the use of life-support systems indefinitely. Lacking of medical resources, uncertainty about result of the treatment and the medial cost for patient are reasons for waiving of doctor.

In conclusion, although almost people would prefer the opinion that euthanasia should be abolished but euthanasia is not completely right as people usually said. Basically, euthanasia is the action of killing people but sometime it can make many benefits for patient and social. Government should give patient the right to have euthanasia when they want. Maybe it is so hard to decide but euthanasia is necessary for modern life.
